Last night, while speaking to a rowdy crowd in Ft. Myers, FL, Donald Trump addressed the recent arrest of the NYC and NJ bombing suspect. After thanking police for the suspect’s apprehension, Trump basically bashed one of the most important tenets of Constitutional law — due process. He’s apparently unaware that in the American legal system, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Or maybe he does know that but doesn’t like it so much. Despite being an “All Lives Matter” advocate, Donald Trump feels the bombing suspect should have been denied medical care after being shot multiple times by police. On top of that, he should also be denied legal counsel if he cannot afford it. And of course, his constitutionally-inept deplorables agreed:
Today we have caught this evil thug who planted the bombs. Thank you law enforcement, thank you police. But the bad part — now we will give him amazing hospitalization. He will be taken care of by some of the best doctors in the world. He will be given a fully modern and updated hospital room. And he’ll probably even have room service, knowing the way our country is. And on top of that, he will be represented by an outstanding lawyer.
Maybe the “Law and Order” candidate should watch a few episodes of the TV show with the same name to learn a little bit about how the legal system works in this country. Or maybe he’ll just “make America great again” by tearing down the very fabric that it was built upon — liberty and justice for all.
